Excitation White Point Problem About Optical Emission Spectrometer

Optical emision spectrometer has a wide range of applications in the industry because of its fast analysis speed and reliable analysis results. However, the analysis speed is fast and the results are reliable. It is based on the excitation point effect. If the white point is excited, we should do as below:

1. Argon flushing time is not enough: if the purity of the argon gas in the excitation gas chamber is not enough, the excitation point will be white.

2. argon exhaust is smooth: if the argon gas path is not smooth, it will lead to insufficient gas to reach the gas chamber, so it is difficult to stimulate the sample.

3. Whether the sample has blisters or cracks: no matter the standard or the self-made sample, if there are sand holes or cracks on the surface of the sample, it will directly lead to the excitation of white spots.

4. C and Si elements of higher samples like gray iron or ductile iron, need to be white-mouthed, if not processed or handled badly, it will directly lead to white spots when excited, can not get accurate values.

5. The surface treatment effect of the sample is not good: the surface needs to be smoothed after the sample preparation, if it is not smoothed, the direct excitation will lead to the failure of the excitation gas chamber seal, resulting in poor excitation effect leading to white spots.

6. The purity of argon is not enough: spectrometer has special requirements for the purity of argon. The high purity argon purchased on the market will directly lead to insufficient purity of argon in the argon cylinder if it is improperly processed during filling. Argon does not mean that the purity of each bottle is sufficient for the spectrometer unless there is an argon purifier.
